To enable .PDF file preview in Explorer on 64 bit versions of Windows 7 make the following registry change.Make sure you back up the registry before making any changes and that you are experienced in making changes to the Windows registry.


Open Regedit and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{DC6EFB56-9CFA-464D-8880-44885D7DC193} You should see an existing AppID value. Change that value to {534A1E02-D58F-44f0-B58B-36CBED287C7C} and reboot. Now Outlook and Windows will properly display PDF previews.
